Trumpet.com Sells for $70K On NameJet.com

May 2, 2009 by Michael Berkens

We blogged about Trumpet.com, last week, while it was still available for backorder at NameJet.com.  We pointed out that this domain sold at TRAFFIC New York last September for $35k

The auction closed the other day amounst all the TRAFFIC auctions, with the domain selling for a whopping $70,486 to “namebidder”.

If payment is made that is a good sign for the industry to see a domain double in price in less than 7 months, in a horrible economy.

Here are some other notable sales from NameJet.com these past few days:

trumpet.com $70,486
nfr.com $12,322
0k.com $9,500
fatboys.com $7,766
amenity.com $7,100
freesubscriptions.com $5,301 (Already in a re-auction at $5,100)
tropicalhomes.com $5,201
tvmovies.com $4,122
freesubscription.com $3,600
ilovechocolate.com $3,092
iclothing.com $2,410
newhomesalestraining.com $2,367
idemo.com $1,750
tvvideo.com $1,533
amble.com $1,425
mindpuzzle.com $1,200

Namejet.com is certainly not opened to every seller, but there do allow certain sellers to sell domains on their platform.

Earlier this year many “owned” domains were sold, which used to be owned by ireit and sold by someone who acquired them from ireit.

Also in auction right now at NameJet.com, is another owned domain, toxic.com

Namejet is just unbeatable. I doubt Trumpet.com would’ve gotten this much even at Traffic/Moniker this past week with all due respect to Moniker and Traffic. As with MHB, I’m hoping the purchase goes through.

Newhomesalestraining.com going for $2367 is a good thing for long-tails of which I am a fan.

Contrabassoon.com is up on Namejet now. Lets see if it can hold a candle to Trumpet.com. It’s interesting to see what different instruments are worth.
