The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced in a press release that it is soliciting Expressions of Interest from firms interested in and capable of performing any number of independent evaluation roles as part of the new gTLD process.

These entities, to be retained by ICANN, will provide independent evaluation services, evaluating applications for new top-level domains (gTLDs). This is an opportunity to play an important role in the next significant evolution of the Internet’s domain name space.

We discussed in a post last week that some fees for panel members are as high as $56,000 PER HOUR.

So if you want to cash in here how:

ICANN is publishing a call for Expressions of Interest for the following evaluation roles:

Applicant Evaluation Panel – Financial or Technical
Submit responses to: app-eval-eoi@icann.org
Geographic Names Panel
Submit responses to: gnp-eoi@icann.org
String Similarity Examiners
Submit responses to: string-sim-eoi@icann.org
Comparative Evaluation Panel ; Appendix A
Submit responses to: compara-eval-eoi@icann.org

    What the benefit?

    Free domain registration?

Anyone of us is disqualified because of conflict of interest.

They want someone who knows S=hit about domains.
