Microsoft CEO: Yahoo deal between the two companies would “still make sense economically”

The CEO of Microsoft,  Steve Ballmer, told an audience at the Gartner ITxpo, that deal with Yahoo would “still make sense economically” and not just at Yahoo’s current low-low price.

Ballmer, went on to say  he doesn’t know what share price Yahoo would have accepted for Microsoft to buy them, after the company turned down Microsoft’s $33 a share offer earlier this year. Ballmer said that even with the recent drop in Yahoo’s share price, the company “probably thinks its still worth as least as much today” as when Microsoft made its offer.

Yahoo is already up 10% in a down market day to over $13 a share.

We will see if this goes anywhere.

Again.
