According to a report by EMarketer online ad revenue for Google will increase 27% in 2008 to $7.6 billion,  nearly twice the estimated growth rate for the next fastest gainer, Microsoft, which will grow 14% to $1.6 billion.

The research firm predicts 8% growth for Yahoo, bringing that company’s total U.S. online advertising revenues to $3.6 billion.

AOL is expected to post a 12.5% revenue decline in 2008 to $1.2 billion, eMarketer says.

Overall U.S. online advertising spending will rise 17% in 2008, says eMarketer.

In 2007, it grew 26%.

    MHB-
Will Yahoo’s affection for the adult industry help close that four billion dollar gap with Google? Possible in the near future?
    -Thanks

    Ray

Yahoo is never going to close the gap especially since they want to outsource their PPC to Google

Online ad revenue is just the tip of the iceberg. Microsoft is already predicting revenues from mobile ads will eclipse that of online ads.

Google is about to move into Apple’s turf with the Google Phone. They’re developing the OS for it by the name of Android. It’s like an IPhone on steroids.

The owners of gphone.com and gphones.com are about to become very wealthy.
