Microsoft announced today that it was backing investor Carl Icahn’s hostile takeover bid to replace the Yahoo’s board of directors. Microsoft also stated that in the event Icanh was successful, they would reconsider purchasing Yahoo’s search business or go back to making an offer for the entire company.

This should be welcome news to domainers who have been dreading a Google – Yahoo deal.

In some way it is a welcome news.

When Company’s merge especially online in this case with microsoft and yahoo it is a BAD news since microsoft has a dominant role with their pc operating system worldwide so they may not give the pc user an alternative but to use yahoo (if they merge with them) as the inbuild search engine in their operating system.

Variety is the spice of life

Competition is always good, especially with adsense not promising any percent, one day a publisher can get .15 for a click, the next day the same ad will get him .01, and theres nothing that can be done. More power to competition!

    Agreed

Anything is better than Google owing 100% of the PPC market
