Estibot.com Look at Back at the Live TRAFFIC Auction

Before the live traffic auction I looked at the automated appraisal tool, Estibot.com to see what they considered to be the best buys of the live traffic auction.

Despite receiving some negative responses and Naysayers, it turned out to be a pretty good indication of what domains would sell.

To refresh your memory this is what we found:

These were the top ten domains in the live TRAFFIC auction with a reserve price of $5,000 or less, with the highest estibot appraisal estimate:

graphicssoftware.com $1 – $5,000 $45,000 SOLD

asphyxiation.com $1 – $5,000 $40,000 Not Sold

virgins.net No Reserve $40,000 Sold

thankyougiftbaskets.com $1 – $5,000 $25,000 SOLD

webclass.com $1 – $5,000 $24,000 SOLD

postalcodes.com $1 – $5,000 $21,000 SOLD

garden.info $1 – $5,000 $21,000 SOLD

scraper.com No Reserve $19,000 SOLD

burningdvds.com $1 – $5,000 $18,000 SOLD

rabid.com $1 – $5,000 $18,000 SOLD

When we used the lowest price in the reserve range as the starting price (so in the $5-$10,000 category for example we used $5K), here were the top 5 Live TRAFFIC auction domain bargains based on the highest percentage increase from reserve price to the appraised price of Estibot.com

DOMAIN NAME RESERVE RANGE ESIBOT VALUE Results

bassguitar.com $25,001 – $50,000 $280,000 NOT SOLD

something.com $10,001 – $25,000 $210,000 Scratched

metricconversion.com $5,001 – $10,000 $180,000 SOLD

patti.com $5,001 – $10,000 $130,000 SOLD

tvschedule.com $10,001 – $25,000 $110,000 SOLD

exerciseballs.com $10,001 – $25,000 $110,000 SOLD

So here are the results a total of 15 domains chosen, 14 actually went to auction and 12 sold.

Pretty good results.

Lastly we looked at the worse buys of the Live TRAFFIC auction according to Estibot.com:

certifieddiamonds.com $250,001 – $500,000 $69,000 NOT SOLD

tune.com $250,001 – $500,000 $45,000 NOT SOLD

koran.com $500,001 – $750,0 $140,000 NOT SOLD

weddingparty.com $250,001 – $500,000 $37,000 NOT SOLD

autobody.com $500,001 – $750,000 $83,000 NOT SOLD

affiliateprogram.com $1MM – $5MM $250,000 NOT SOLD

pay.com $1MM – $5MM $160,000 NOT SOLD

portfolios.com $1MM – $5MM $140,000 NOT SOLD

yachts.com $1MM – $5MM $130,000 NOT SOLD

jackpot.com $1MM – $5MM $49,000 NOT SOLD

So of the 10 worst buys none of them sold

So this tool appears to be quite helpful in determining value.

Although no automated apprisal service can be completely accurate this one certain deserves more respect that it got when i first blogged about it.

Unforunately I did not have the time to run the all the silent auction names, which are over 2,500, however we will have this completed after the auction and will report the results then.

In the meantime feel free to check out the service for yourself for today’s auction

I have carsnewandused.com and estibot says Reg Fee clearly estibot is wrong because I’m sure it’s worth at least $10,000+ don’t trust these automated apraisals

I never really thought anybody would pay attention to estibot nowadays. I used it before but discontinued after reading some not-so-rave reviews about it.

I’m using the dnscoop recently. I wonder how that would measure up or if anybody else prefers using it.
