Yesterday we published a post about the owner of the domain name TrumpTv.com putting the domain on the market with an asking price of $3 Million.
The owner went on to say that the traffic to the domain name went from “about 150,000 people to 1.3 million in just the last couple of weeks”
However Alexa.com which lists sites by traffic only has TrumpTv.com at 2.7 million which doesn’t mesh well with the reported traffic.
Beyond that the “value” of TrumpTV.com logically comes from the Donald putting out a daily live video on Facebook this week which is called Trump Tower Live which many believe will transition into a Trump TV channel.
Yesterday one guy in Utah hand registered the domain name TrumpTowerLive.com and TrumpTower.live
Of course the Donald could have just registered those domain names as well.
The domain name TrumpLiveTv.com was registered under privacy a few days ago on the 24th.
As of publication TrumpLive.TV is unregistered and would work just fine for a show as well.
I could come up with another 10 domains in the next 10 minutes that Trump could use for a channel including Trump.tube, which is also unregistered as of publication.
With all those options out there including just using Facebook to carry the channel, throwing a $3 million price tag on a domain that has potential trademark infringing issues, especially dealing with a litigious guy like Donald Trump who probably would go with a federal lawsuit, rather than a UDRP, is just asking for trouble IMHO.

Don’t for Trump.Tickets … he’ll need that for his TrumpTVShow.com … Lets of interesting possibilities. That’s assuming that he doesn’t put hillary into shock and pulling ahead to win. Anything can happen this election as we’ve seen. Looks like hillaryimplodes.com is still available

This means nothing, only those with the Alexa tool bars on their browsers get registered with Alexa Traffic, it’s generally a worthless metric as it’s so open to abuse. It would be interesting to see thoroughly bot filtered Analytics stats.
Assuming the claims are truthful, all the alternatives provided would pale in comparison to this. They are hemorrhaging traffic.

The Registrants probably think DT will settle but in reality, (LOL), he won’t pay a penny to get those domains out of their hands.

I believe Trump has a track record that he would rather pay his lawyer $ 3mil before he would pay it to someone selling a domain.
Over the past 15 yrs, we all have scratched our head wondering why a major corporation would rather file a UDRP than pay a domain owner $ 3k – $ 5k. for a domain that might or might not infringe on a TM.
