National A-1 Shuts Down Sextoys.com & ToySales.com

November 8, 2011 by Michael Berkens

According to xBiz.com,  National A-1 Internet has discontinued the operations of its adult novelty retail website SexToys.com and affiliate program ToySales.com, (however I’m still getting a resolving site at sextoys.com)

This comes off of the announcement a week ago that National A-1 forfeited the domain Escorts.com (and presumable escort.com) to the Feds.

Sextoys.com is another strong six or seven figure domain name that National A-1 owned.

While Sex Toys are legal in many parts of the country, they are not legal everywhere and certain items that fall into the “sex toy” category are illegal in certain cities/county’s

“Today we say goodbye to Toysales.com and SexToys.com,” a MovieDollars statement said. “The sites will be closed down and moved to a new location. Our efforts are best served concentrating on areas where we see continued growth, not only for us, but for our webmasters.”

The company said affiliate links should be removed immediately as they will no longer function, and any existing ToySales balanaces will be paid as affiliates reach their minimum.

According to the company, SexToys.com once offered nearly 25,000 products, as well as sexual health and well-being information and customer service support that included live telephone customer support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The ToySales.com affiliate program, which offered online marketing tools and affiliate support, was launched January 2010.

Here is what is on the site:

:For customer service assistance with orders prior to November 7, 2011 please call 1-800-739-8694 or send an e-mail to support@sextoys.com”

This announcement raises more questions than it answers.

Selling and possessing a sex toy is clearly a 1st Amendment right. Amazing that some backwards states still prohibit it.

Hal, they won’t even let you sodomize a dog in WA unless it is under 40lbs…

@ cartoonz… shuddup… you know you were joking… i know you were joking… but within the next month some official in one of the several states is gonna try to write that into law.

He wasn’t joking, when you get that far out east it’s common place.

National A-1 appears to be clearing itself of anything adult industry related. Its definitely been interesting to see how everything has been unfolding with them. I wonder what will happen next.

Btw, the last two comments are classic. Good laughs!

It is legal for a male to have sex with an animal as long as it does not exceed 40 lbs.

That is actually a law in the State of West Virginia, not WA… make far more sense somehow knowing that.

So they have shut down the website because selling sex toys are illegal in some cities/country’s?

    Web

I don’t know why they shut it down

I do know that sales of certain sex toys in some jurisdictions in the US is problematic

it would be educational to know what’s really happening with a-1. are there any documents posted anywhere?

they have a massive portfolio. one would think most of their income is probably coming from ads for legal activities. maybe not?

if they can’t sell certain stuff in certain areas, then why not just program the system to refuse to process orders coming from certain zip codes?

“due to local laws and regulations, product xyz is not available to customers in your state. we apologise for the inconvenience.”

It’s probably the laundered $$. National A-1 doesn’t want to leave grounds for further investigation into its assets, which is their websites of questionable legality, formal grounds for further investigation. They want to launder their $$ in peace.

In Alabama it’s the law that sex toys must be used in intra-family relationships.

Do you know if A-1 is still buying domains?

    Tommy

I have no idea, I don’t have contact with them

    December 6, 2011 at 8:02 am

The very fact that sex toys aren’t legal in some cities is a pretty bad idea. These days you can watch a porn film within seconds on your mobile, so, sex toys being illegal…?! Let people have some fun…
