ICANN Still Has Virtually No Revenue Coming In From Last Resort Auctions

Now At 66 ICANN Expects 105 New gTLD Applications To Be Withdrawn Before End of IE

In its 2014 budget ICANN expects a total of 646 new gTLD applications will be withdrawn up from its estimate of 545. We know that there were 1931 applications submitted for 1,409 strings. So we know that all the non-winning applications in strings with more than one application will be withdrawn accounting for 522 of the 646 applications. ICANN Is Planning On New gTLD To Generating Less Than 10% Of Existing TLD in 2014

According to ICANN 2014 budget it is expecting revenue coming in from New gTLD' to be less than 10% of existing TLD"s. The 2014 revised budget has $81,115,000 in revenue coming in from registries and registrars from incumbent TLD's  but only $7,043,000 in revenue coming in from new gTLD's. Earlier today Straat Investments let us know they had withdrawn their application for .Book today, we now know that once a site is withdrawn with ICANN it is reflected on the ICANN site the same day. ICANN Tax Return: Ends With $440 Million In Cash & Securities

ICANN has published it's Federal tax return form 990 for the tax year ending on June 30, 2012 all 68 pages of it. According to the filing,  ICANN ended its fiscal year with $466 Million in Assets and $388 Million in Liabilities therefore showing a net asset balance of over $83 Million up $3 Million from the year before.
