Umami.com closes at $125,700, $25K more than last month

January 8, 2026 by Raymond Hackney

GoDaddy Umami.com

Umami.com closed at GoDaddy auctions for $125,700. Registered in 1998, there are many restaurants named Umami. Back on December 4 it closed for $100k but was unpaid. It will be interesting to see if it gets paid this time.

Umami is the fifth basic taste, described as savory or meaty, and is found in foods like aged cheeses, cured meats, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Umami is a Japanese word that translates to “pleasant savory taste” and was formally identified as a distinct flavor due to its connection to glutamate, unlike the general English term “savory” which lacks that specific scientific grounding.
