Google wants to analyze your health records

Google Wants to Analyze Health Records

Google wants to analyze your health records

Project Nightingale is a collaboration between Google and Ascension and it will give Google access to personal health data.

The Next Web covered the story:

Interestingly, the partnership was mentioned in Google’s July earnings call, but it came under scrutiny only on Monday after the Wall Street Journal reported that Google would gain detailed personal health information of millions of Americans across 21 states.

The report also said the data involved in the project includes patient names, dates of birth, lab results, doctor diagnoses, and hospitalization records, along with a complete medical history.

Google confirmed the deal, adding the arrangement adheres to HIPAA regulations regarding patient data and that it will meet necessary privacy and security requirements.

It’s almost as if Google is just saying to legislators we dare you to come and stop us. With all the angst toward big tech Google just keeps pushing the envelope in every corner of our lives.

Google, Amazon, Microsoft Facebook and your phones are all listening and watching YOU!! every second.

It sucks we are giving our data FREE to them and not even asking our permission.
I think the European GDPR got it right.
