Drive Motors rebrands but it might be Anything.com who is in the driver’s seat

June 25, 2019 by Raymond Hackney

Tech Crunch reported today that a start up backed by Peter Thiel, Drive Motors is rebranding to Modal. They are going to use the domain name ModalUP.com.

Founder, Aaron Krane explained the name change:

That notion of transparency and self-contained interactions led Krane to the new name because “modal,” in software terminology, means a self-contained user interface that is overlaid on top of an existing application page and keeps that existing application page in full view the whole time.

The domain modal.com is owned by Anything.com, registered in 1999.
