Where is your favorite place to sell domain names?

June 30, 2017 by Raymond Hackney

There are a multitude of places to sell your domains names. Popular aftermarket sites like Sedo and Afternic have been around for years. GoDaddy gives sellers a variety of ways to sell, from 7 day auctions to premium listings.

Specialty sites such as BrandBucket and Brandroot offer sellers of brandable domains a boutique experience to market their names.

Efty allows it’s customers to find a marketplace theme and set up  For-Sale landing pages to increase inquiries and sales. And pay no commissions.

There are several more marketplaces including Uniregistry, Undeveloped and NameSilo to name just a few.

So what is your favorite website to sell your domain names?

GoDaddy all the way, being in the registrar path is perfect.

I just wait for people to email me. No interest in paying commissions to marketplaces.

Seems like i always get inquires on afternic i get nibbles that go nowhere .when i put bin for 3500 to 4500 on a few of them .i actually sold a couple .you have to hold your breath when you sign in to see what you sold the domain for .the best is when you sold something and you would have sold for a fraction.the worst is when i sold a domain for 50k and godaddy tells you its a good buyer. Then they walk and godaddy tells you this hardly ever ever ever ever happens at gd aftrnic . the buyer will be punished. Yeah right

Undeveloped. Easily the best landing pages in my opinion.

    NamePros for liquidity (no commission).
Direct for end users (no commission).
efty is not free… there is an upfront cost, akin to how other places charge a listing fee. When I do Direct, I just use my own simple lander, there are wordpress plugins that make it fast and easy.

I use SEDO domain offer pages at no extra cost but also include fast Sedo transfer and escrow service with my own exclusive marketplace Domains Feast as well as Google Search Images for every domain listed. Again I use my Twitter notifications to increase traffic generated.

I’m now using my own platform Hitnamer.com. My inventory is capped at 2000 domains and I’m expecting my best year ever this year. I’m also launching a newsletter and I will be targeting investors and endusers direct. Unfortunately, I’m giving up on all the well known platforms, they’ve way too much inventory on offer and they’re not getting the sales or the prices

Places for selling domains are one thing but something that tops them all is having the right domain in the first place. For example, there is a run on “Crypto” domains at present (2017) and they are all selling out. Think of it this way (and the sales platform will take care of itself):

    – The Right Name (Catchy name e.g. CryptoDust.com)
    – The Right Vertical (Category in demand e.g.Cryptos)
    – The Right Time (Selling out in 2017 e.g. Cryptos)

Or look at it another way, if:

    – CryptoBank.com, SOLD 2017, $125K
    – CryptoNews.com, SOLD 2017, $50K
    – CryptoGold.com, SOLD 2017, $19K
    – CryptoFinance.com, SOLD 2017, $15K
    – CryptoAffiliates.com SOLD 2017, $11K

Does it matter where CryptoDust.com is posted, for example, you just know it’s going to sell this year for in excess of any of the above – Why? Because it’s more right!!

Where are the BEST places to post or list domains? I have over 1200, and most are the NEW .apps. I have a treasure of BIG famous names, people, places to sell. I also did a press release and Youtube video.
