It went into GA on April 10, 2014 and was known at the time as the new gTLD with the highest regular registration and renewal rate of around $2,500 a year which at the time was about 3x more than any other new gTLD.
Since .car, .cars and .auto adopted a $2,500 registration and renewal rate for all its non-premium domain names.
