More Avatar Movies Coming? Domain Registration & Purchases Point to Avatar 3 & 4

Avatar directed by James Cameron was released in 2009 and generated around $2.8 million in box office receipts has a sequel planned for release in 2018, Avatar 2.

Yesterday some domain registrations and purchases show that there maybe another couple of sequels in the works.

Brand protection company MarkMonitor.com acquired the domain names AvatarThree.com,  and  Avatar4Movie.com, from third parties and the whois updated on both of these yesterday.

Also yesterday Mark Monitor registered the domain names, Avatar2TheMovie.com which had been registered to a third-party last year but expired and dropped, AvatarThreeMovie.com which was registered to a third-party back in 2013 but likewise expired and dropped, as well as the domain names AvatarFour.com, AvatarFourMovie.com and AvatarTwoMovie.com.

By the way the domain name AvatarTwo.com is owned by a third-party in Massachusetts and was registered in 2014.

    James Cameron already announced a forth Avatar movie would be coming (about 2 weeks back) and we already new that 2 & 3 were in the pipeline a couple of years ago.

    Actually, there are 4 more Avatar films coming, with Avatar 5 due in 2023!

    Avatar movies are already in post-production.

    For me, Avatar hasn’t aged well. I enjoyed seeing it the first time in the theater, but now the storyline seems banal and hokey. But it’s a franchise, and no doubt it will continue to bank.

    Avatar was a decent film, and it may have made more box office dollars than any for a while, but honestly the story and the characters simply don’t hold a candle to Star Wars in terms of present and lasting interest.
