Did You Know That New gTLD’s .Men: & .Lotto Launched & .Game Got Delayed?

September 22, 2015 by Michael Berkens

I read Andrew’s post yesterday on DomainNameWire.com, about new gTLD extensions launching this week;  Tickets, .Rent and .Courses.

I realized  that a couple of  other strings launched in the last couple of weeks that basically went unnoticed by the domain blogger community.

.Lotto was launched by Afilias, at 101domain.com a .Lotto registration, not a premium but any .Lotto registration will set you back $1,899 a year per domain.

The .Lotto domain extension was offered, not over a 5 day Early Access Program (EAP) like Donuts Strings, but over an 11 day EAP program.

Still as we sit today in General Availability, .Lotto has just 67 domain names in the zone file including those owned by the registry.

.Men was launched last week and has 567 domain names in the zone file.

Being a 50 Cent Fan I tried to register the domain name; Many.Men which is a great Joint by 50 Cent but was not made available for registration.

If you don’t know who 50 Cent is you can check out the details here.

if you don’t know the song “Many Men” you can check it out on iTunes.

If you think a joint is only something you smoke then you should check this out and then be embarrassed that a guy approaching 60 (as in years old) knows what that means and and you don’t.

I did get the domain The.Men for registration fee but there is no 50 Cent Song to go with.

.Game which was scheduled to go live by Uniregistry this month has got pushed off to 2016.

I expect Uniregistry will launch .Game with an Early Access Program (EAP) rather than the way it has launched previous new gTLD’s with no landrush and no EAP.

However other than getting a notice from registrars that all my pre-registrations for .Game were cancelled and that the .Game new gTLD launch has been postponed and repriced, rolling over to 2016,  I have no other details.

    Jean

The registry seemed to just delayed it and told ICANN it would not launch until 2016

50 cent is not relevant, nor solvent, last I heard he fled to Africa, and stopped paying his bills

Curtis Jackson (aka 50 Cent) will make a comeback. He’s smart and has no drug/drinking problems. Very resilient.

I think people already feel nTLD fatigue.
By the time .web arrives no one will give a *** anymore.

More likely that fatigue is symptomatic of low testosterone or a tape worm, not passing up the opportunity to mine new domains over the last 2 years. Making that effort wasn’t fatiguing, rather it led to exhilaration at what the future holds in store. I acquired Gun.Expert for $140 after it dropped this summer and quietly reappeared on GoDaddy. It was a thrilling day and many are grinning from their own success finding those great combinations. If plenty are asleep at the switch when the .Web round begins, that’s your chance.

anyone can buy gunexpert.com for $4000. How much do you really think you’ll be able to sell gun.expert for? $500..$800 maybe.. if you’re lucky. people aren’t doing their research with these names.

Gun.com is taken, try another extension. That’s the altitude Gun.Expert is at, 3 letter singular domains. Moments ago, I registered Forensics.Expert for $45. I won’t be looking at what forensicsexpert.com is worth, just Forensics.com

When a name like Gun.Expert or Forensics.Expert surfaces at reg fee, do you buy it and ask questions later, or begin researching 2-word dot coms that are 30 times the price?

with these new gtlds its no just about what is before the dot. you can’t look at gun.expert the same way you would look at gun. it just doesn’t make any sense….at all. i don’t know where people come up with such logic.

I bought MySe.men , now I can offer MySemen to anyone who feels the need.

Having bought MySe.men I now see that BuySe.men is available so should I buy BuySe.men or simply stick with MySe.men which could be bought or sold?
