I don’t get it, have owned some killer .ws over the years (still do) but there hasn’t been major interest in most (except a couple), but people go and register premium .website domains?!

Tells me that the number of successful ASCII New GTLDs will definitely be less than 10.

Perhaps a lot less than 10!!!

According to nTLD stats, over 22k of those registrations are from Namecheap.

It would be interesting to see how much people really paid for them. Namecheap is offering a free .website domain with hosting plans.

The 4th most utilised domain extension? Sounds a bit like numerology and press release speak. There many more TLDs with a higher utilisation.

If you search a name like Beatles or Tinder you will find dozens of the new TLD’s available. Beatles.club is available so is beatles.online beatles.pics beatles.reviews, etc. Similar fore tinder. Obviously the people who own and protect these intellectual properties do not think the new TLD’s will ever be a source of major traffic.

Of course they could get the names later if they become popular by UDP or whatever, at a cost of thousands of dollars.

Words used by countless businesses like international national or ford are available in many new TLD’s, and there the first to get it probably will get to keep it.
