1st Day New gTLD Totals: .Tech 4,715; .Win 401; .Download 397; .Accountant 316; .Racing 263; .Loan 242

August 7, 2015 by Michael Berkens

6 New gTLD’s went into General Availability where they could be registered on a first come, first served basis.

5 of the new extension are owned and operated by Famous Four Media wile the 6th .Tech is owned and operated by Radix.

Here are the number of domain name registrations including those registered in Sunrise by trademark holders:

.Tech 4,715

.Win 401

.Download 397

.Accountant 316

.Racing 263

.Loan 242

After the 2nd day of GA here are the totals:

.Tech 5,267

.Win 430

.Download 429

.Accountant 331

.Racing 325

.Loan 242

When I checked for domain names to registered under  Famous Four;s extensions I found almost everything was reserved, however Famous Four does not do premium priced registration/renewal domain names.

.Tech does offer premium priced registration and renewal domains so probably has a much small reserved domain list although many of its super premium domain names are being held by the registry such as High.tech and Bio.Tech

Got just one .tech domain (OnCall) but the premium pricing on the most keywords is crazy. Even for words that dont go well with “tech” are priced very high. Mine was reg fee but fee that is the only one I will get unless they let loose some of that pricing.
