Tom Delonge best known as the former guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the American rock band Blink-182 has launched a new site on the new gTLD ToTheStars.Media

Mr. Delonge is already running a Twitter account under ToTheStars in which it says:

“The Official Twitter for To The Stars.. Alternative Media & Entertainment.”

Although the Twitter account lists the URL of the site as tothestarsinc.com, that domain name is re-directing to the .Media domain and the logo makes it clear that the .Media domain will be the branded URL of the site.

Mr. Delonge new album is dropping next week.

ToTheStars.Media was registered back in late September 2014.

.Media is owned by Donuts.

If you’re wondering, Tothestars.com has been registered since 2003 and is currently going to a Godaddy Placeholder.

Tom’s personal website is on a .Me address, tomdelonge.me

How is remembering the TLD different than remembering the word after “tothestars”… was it tothestarsinc.com or tothestarsmedia.com?

Edward is right. To me tothestars.media is easier to remember than tothstarsmedia.com

This is positive news. These are the types of uses that will raise public awareness of new TLD alternatives. I think I read where Lady Gaga moved a site from .org to .foundation. As more notable people/companies make similar moves, thinking will eventually shift. Lots of people don’t know yet about full word extensions. An attribute of full word tld’s I like is that the right of the dot finally contains meaning and adds to the clarity of the web address.

My chief criticism of the rollout was the decision to release singular and plural versions of the same word.

Agreed. Singular and plural was a mistake. As far as confusion well most people are just lazy. If you can’t remember tothestars.media maybe you have a learning disorder.

We should be able to register .entireDictionary.
If not, it dosent make sense to me. Why can we register .media .tools? What if I want and need .tool .Value .simple and other words?
I still need to get MyKeyword.com or .xyz because I dont see myself using VoipTool.guru.

That’s the part I can’t get. We are limited.

Do you realize how many words are in just the Englush language alone ?

I know that it is not realistic. I think .words kill the point of having a true extension.

    I dont remember using a
.executable file on my pc but a .exe.

That is because the original MS-DOS only supported a 8.3 letter name format.
