.Wedding Winds Up With 1,254 Domain Registrations After It’s First Day Of General Availability

Minds + Machines launched .Wedding into general availability yesterday where domain names could be registered on a first come, first served basis.

Including domain names registered by trademark holders in the Sunrise period, .Wedding ended its first day of GA with 1,254 registrations according to ntldstats.com

1and1.com and Godaddy.com were the top two domain name registrars where .Wedding domain names were registered.

.Wedding has variable pricing on premium domain names.

    So that’s more than five times of what .wed has managed to scrape together in all the time since it has been launched.
    And as .wed “encourages” deletion of names after two years, that difference will only grow.

    This illustrates very well the difference between non-restrictive, user-friendly policies and … others!

      Pretty much.

      I wanted to register a .WED as a shortened form of Wednesday, but with the price hike aspect there is no reason to care.
