The South China Morning Post did an article today on the upcoming Go Daddy IPO. In the article Daniel Negari from .XYZ is quoted on the public offering and gives some insight on .xyz, the market in China for domain names and said the he feels dot com has it a peak.

From the article:

“GoDaddy is as close as it comes to being a consumer recognised brand for domains,” Daniel Negari, CEO of domain company XYZ, told the South China Morning Post.

Despite warning from some experts that the GoDaddy IPO may not be able to reverse its losses, which were upwards of US$140 million in 2014, Negari said that the domain market remains strong.

“We’ve hit peak with dot com [but] I don’t think we’ve reached a peak with domains as a whole,” he said.

Negari said that China is a major market for all domain sellers, including his company, and he expects growth there to continue.

“40 per cent of the domains we’re selling right now are in China,” he said.

“Existing businesses and new businesses are just coming online every day.”

“We’ve hit peak with dot com [but] I don’t think we’ve reached a peak with domains as a whole”.
First of all, that is Negari his opinion (and a biased one), it’s definitely not a fact.
Second of all, I think that statement should read “We will soon hit peak with dot xyz [but] I don’t think we’ve reached a peak with domains as a whole”.
After all, .xyz renewals will soon be coming up and tons of those won’t be renewed (My guess is that 95%-98% of the robo-registrations will be dropped). Unless .xyz will start a new round of robo-registrations they will never reach their peak again after renewals come up.

maybe You will be surprised…. this guy is able to renew them himself if a situation fores him. Or find another dirty trick to manipulate less knowledgeable people around.

    Hello MHB,

Daniel Negari obviously has no clue as to what Chinese online participants crave most. Its laughable that anyone concerned with the newgTLDs persistent Operational Problems would gamble on his extensions. Chinas smart money, is looking for stable dependable .COM extension Platforms that set the global standard for dependability.

Nice propoganda Daniel, its just that those in the know, steer clear of your extensions. The overwhelming Body of Evidence proves Daniels assertions as hollow Buzz. The really smart money is driving the .COMS to even more usage and supremacy. We wonder when Daniels continual lying will be realized. Daniel you are a real work of artfull deception. Good luck with that because you will be exposed by truths rather than lies. JAS 3/30/15

Gratefully, Jeff Schneider (Contact Group) (Metal Tiger)
