October 9, 2014 by Michael Berkens

In a press release out this morning, described as a “First-of-its-Kind Partnership Enables Premium Registry Reserve Domain Names to be Quickly Listed and Sold through Hundreds of Partners, Including Top Registrars, Sedo announced that , a leading backend registry provider, CentralNic, joined the SedoMS to sell premium domain names

“For the first time, this partnership will give Registry Operators the ability to sell premium registry reserve names through a network of hundreds of sales partners, including top registrars around the world.”

“CentralNic’s integration with SedoMLS Premium Fast Transfer network is a game changer. ”

“Through its vast network, SedoMLS will enable CentralNic and its registry clients to reach the widest audience and ensure that the right names end up with the right people,” said Ben Crawford, CEO at CentralNic. “SedoMLS offers us the easiest and most straight forward way to distribute an increasingly large inventory of premium domains through a global registrar network.

“The .co.com extension, which utilizes CentralNic for back-end registry services and will be the first to benefit from the ability to list and sell their inventory using the SedoMLS distribution channel.”

“Participating in SedoMLS’ extensive distribution network, will provide critical exposure for .co.com premium domains on major registrar sites, and will surely generate an uplift in transactions.”, said Ken Hansen, CEO at co.com.

“With hundreds of new TLDs being released this year in a historic expansion of the Internet’s domain name system, domain buyers and end users have enumerable options for finding the perfect name,” said Tobias Flaitz, Sedo’s CEO. “To become a leading extension in this new Internet landscape, registries must put their names in the best position to be found by the best buyers, and by joining SedoMLS CentralNic does just that for itself and its clients.”

CentralNic is also the backend provider for .XYZ the new gTLD with the most domain names registrations, as well as .wiki, .ink

Congrats to Sedo and CentralNic.

I believe this to be a game changer!!!

Now companies (end users and not domainers) will be able to easily find and buy the best names and start using them. And they will use them because they will have paid a premium as a buy-now or reserve-auction and will want a return on their investment.

I predict that within about 6 months we will start seeing some of these sites becoming live.
