Earlier today we wrote that Frank Schilling’s North Sound Names registered over 16,000 domain names under the new gTLD .Audio which is owned and operated by Frank Schilling’s Uniregistry yesterday.

North Sound Domains also registered 5,000 domain names in another Uniregistry new domain extension .HipHop yesterday.

.Hiphop which launched earlier this month,  had after its first day of general availability,  just 424 domain registrations and had around 500 registrations before yesterday registrations by North Sound Names.

.Hiphop is now the 84th most registered new gTLD according to ntldstats, com with over 5,500 domain name registered.

It looks like North Sound Names registered all unregistered three numbered .Hiphop domains and the rest were domain of   first name .Hiphop like Mike.Hiphop and Norah.Hiphop and Monte.Hiphop

Its not clear if these domains were available to be registered or were on Uniregistry’s reserved list.

If you want to see all of the 5,000 .Hiphop domain names registered by North Sound Names yesterday, you can go here today to view the list but by tomorrow morning  the list will be gone.

North Sound Names now has registered close to 75,000 new gTLD domain names according to ntldstats.com, making it the largest registrant of new gTLD domain names, having registered over 3% of all new gTLD domains.

Keeping in view that both are Frank’s organization I treat this as money taken out from one pocket and put into another and 5000 domains registered. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

I know someone register’s 5000+ .com domains in a single day back in 2000-2001 during Staples.com special $1 per domain deal offered through Register.com. :). He is still an active domain investor
