A handful of Premium .CLUB Domain Names are being auctioned off in Heritage Auctions’ Domain Names & Intellectual Property Auction that also includes notable .com’s, including Bitcoins.com which is being offered by Bitcoin entrepreneur Mark Karpeles to provide some relief to the people impacted by once dominant, now bankrupt bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox.

Here is a  press release we received from the .Club Registry:

.CLUB is currently the number one selling new gTLD, having sold more than 80,000 domains since its launch two months ago.

The .CLUB names included in this Heritage Auction are:

Bitcoin.club

Baby.club

Luxury.club

Comicbooks.club

CoinCollecting.club

.CLUB has already proven to be a popular new domain name among global brands, nightclubs, associations, sports and country clubs, professional sports teams and many more. Recently, famed hip hop artist and entrepreneur 50 Cent launch 50InDa.Club and recording artist Demi Lovato announced her new fan site at Lovato.club.

To date, there has been more than $600,000 in .CLUB premium name sales. Recent reported sales include: Eat.club for $20,000, English.club for $17,500, Chinese.club for $13,750 and toys.club for $12,500.

Many new businesses have already been launched using a .CLUB domain.

One of them, Lucas Webster, CEO and founder of Shaving.Club is quoted as saying:

“We chose a .CLUB extension for our new company Shaving.club as it not only helps brand us an affinity group for luxury shaving products, but also because of the extension’s global appeal and recognition no matter what language or alphabet you use”

The online HA.com domain auction is already live and open for placing bads.

The auction and ends at 10pm CT on July 23rd. The live auction concludes on July 24, 2014 at 1pm CT.

The Heritage Domain Name Auction is an exclusive joint partnership between Heritage Auctions and RightOfTheDot, LLC to provide live auctioneer and live online auction services for premium domains in new TLD extensions that are being launched over the next several years.

Heritage Auctions has completed more than $8 Billion in auction transactions since 1976, and is the world’s largest collectibles auctioneer and the third largest auction house in the world. Heritage’s website is among the most-trafficked websites on the web and it has offices and buying capability all over the world.”

The prices sound impressive but it is too early in the development of .CLUB gTLD to be certain that these are anything more than speculative purchases or keywork registrations that will be diverted to the registrant’s primary brand website in another TLD. The generic .com basis for deciding what might be a premium domain might not work so well in these new gTLDs.
