Namejet.com’s pre-bidding for the  Live ICANN .Global Auction ends tomorrow Sunday June 22nd at 11pm EST and as of publication 50% of the domain names have bids.

The live auction will be held on Tuesday in London during the ICANN 50 meeting.

The event will be held at Hilton London Paddington, 146 Praed Street, London, which is just blocks from the hotel the ICANN meeting will be held and is one of the recommended ICANN hotels for the meeting so many of you will be staying there as well.

If your going to be at ICANN you can register for the event by clicking here.

Registration is limited to 350 people and with some 2,500 or more expected to attend ICANN  you should register quickly as possible.

This is not only an auction but a social event, where there will be a cocktail hour (actually 1 1/2 hours) where drinks and food will be served and the World Cup will be on the big screen in the room.

Reserve prices are set as low as $250 with the majority of the domain names having a reserve under $5,000

We will have more information regarding live online bidding for those that will not be in attendance Monday Morning.

A bid of $69-$249 shouldn’t be considered in calculating the percentage that have bids. Your title should say 0% have acceptable bids.

I have been writing about domain auctions since I started the blog and have never used the term “acceptable bids”

matter of fact I don’t think I have ever read any blogger use that term

    Ok use “meaningless bids”.

    We don’t use that either.

Bids are bids and we will see when the auction is over what is meaningful and meaningless

I just realized Dr. Chris Hartnett sold the “battleship” BeGlobal.com a while ago, but still has more than 3,000 ‘global’ domains.
