New gTLD Advertising Hits The London Tube (Subway)

May 14, 2014 by Michael Berkens

newgtldphoto

Thanks to a reader of TheDomains.com who spotted an ad in the London Tube (otherwise known as the subway ) for new gTLD’s

The Ad looks like a pretty big billboard (unfortunately it looks like the picture got chopped off slightly on the right) sponsored by the domain name registrar, 123-reg.co.uk

Looks like the ad is featuring the new gTLD’s of .Club, .Ninja and .XYZ as well as .London, .Guru, .Plumbing, and .Webcam

Also noted that Google.com (in the UK) shows the option to go through to Google.co.uk which opens on a Google UK page, coincides with the launch of .uk in June.

My apologies, I have been informed it has always been that way. Reg some .uk today so the mental frame was set me to notice.

Here is another pic from their 123-reg.co.uk twitter account. Very small ad in the subway car. Very small.
