Canada’s MuchMusic Quietly Acquires Much.com

May 13, 2014 by Michael Berkens

Canada’s Much Music quietly acquired the domain name Much.com in what appears to be around October 2013.

The domain Much.com is now being forwarded to MuchMusic.com

Much Music is a television network owned by Bell Media subsidiary of BCE

It looks like the domain was acquired sometime in October 2013 by brandcertified.com a company related to MarkMonitor

Prior to the acquisition in October,  the domain name was owned by for approximately  two years under privacy at Moniker.com.

Prior to that the domain was owned by KazTrix Corporation of Toronto.

According to Screenshots.com Much.com was either parked or not in use except for a short period in 2012 when it looks like someone tried to make it into some sort of social networking site.

According to DNpric.es, the domain Much.com sold as part of a Moniker auction associated with the SES conference in August 2008 for $411,800.

Much.com was in a Domainfest/Snapnames.com auction in September 2011 with a reserve range of $250,000-$500,000 but does not appear to have sold in that auction.

Another great generic .com is now off the market probably forever.
