F&C Management Limited has filed a UDRP on the domain name ThamesRivers.com

The domain name ThamesRivers.com is the site of the Thames River Capital Group Limited which “is a privately owned investment company. The firm provides its services to institutional investors and entrepreneurs . It launches and manages equity, fixed income, and balanced mutual funds and hedge funds for its clients. The firm invests in the public equity and fixed income markets across the globe. It was founded in 1998 and is based in London, United Kingdom”.

The longest river in the England and the second longest river in the  United Kingdom is named the River Thames

According to Wikipedia.org:

The administrative powers of the Thames Conservancy have been taken on with modifications by the Environment Agency and, in respect of the Tideway part of the river, such powers are split between the agency and the Port of London Authority.

In non-administrative use, stemming directly from the river and its name are Thames Valley University, Thames Water, Thames Television productions, Thames & Hudson publishing, Thameslink (north-south railways passing through central London), and South Thames College. Historic entities include the Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company.

F&C is dedicated to asset management. The company’s clients include retail investors, financial advisers, and large institutional investors such as public authorities, insurance charities. The Company has offices throughout the world, and has more than three million private and corporate clients on whose behalf, as at 31 March 2010, it managed over £101.5 billion of assets.

Assets are managed from three principal investment centres: London, Amsterdam and Edinburgh.

The Company has an office network spanning ten countries: China (Hong Kong), France (Paris), Germany (Frankfurt and Munich), India (Mumbai), Ireland (Dublin), The Netherlands (Amsterdam), Portugal (Lisbon), Sweden (Stockholm), Switzerland (Geneva), UK (London and Edinburgh) and the US (Boston).

There is also a much less famous Thames River in Connecticut.

It will be an interesting one.
