Looks Like 1st New gTLD Private Auction For This Week Is Over As Donuts Loses & TLDH Wins .Casa

August 15, 2013 by Michael Berkens

It appears that the 1st of this weeks private auctions being held by Applicant Auction is completed as Donuts has withdrawn its application for .Casa on the ICANN website.

Donuts application for .Casa has a prioritization number of 1,622 and has not yet passed ICANN Initial Evaluation (IE)  meaning that Donuts will get 70% refund of their $185,000 application fee.

The only other applicant for .Casa is Top Level Domain Holdings Limited (LON:TLDH) which had a prioritization number of 171 which appears to be the winner of the auction.

TLDH said that they were going to participate in 4 private auctions being held this week and that .Casa was one of the new gTLD’s the would be participating in the auction.

Godaddy.com also had an application in for .Casa but long ago withdrew the application when they decided not to be a registry.

Donuts put in 68 of its new gTLD applications into this round of private auctions but beyond TLDH announcement we do not know how many auctions are taking place.

This round of private  auctions are suppose to run through the end of this week.

Back in the first round of private auctions, Donuts lost 5 of the 6 new gTLD’s private auctions but won the rights to .media and .marketing in a different type of private auction last week.
