November 26, 2012 by Michael Berkens

A UDRP has just been filed on the domain name GED.net, by the  American Council on Education GED Testing Service LLC whose official site is Acenet.edu.

According to its site, The American Council on Education (ACE) develops and delivers the GED test.

The domain name GED.net is an informational site about the exam which says its been copyrighted since 2005 however the whois record is showing as a record creation date of 2011 for the domain.

According to DomainTools.com the domain was first registered in 1997 by Hayes Online Educational Services.

Google returns more than 523 Million results for the term “ged”.

The company filing the complain holds more than 10 US trademarks on the term GED although most of them seemed to have been filed in August of this year.

I did find one trademark going back to 1984 filed by the complainant.

We will keep you updated.
