ICANN: 4 New gTLD Applications Withdrawn, 3 By Google

According to ICANN’s site, four applications for new gTLD’s have been withdrawn by the applicants so far, including three by Google.

The strings Google has withdrawn its new gTLD application for are:

.And

.Are

.Est

All of Google applications were submitted by Charleston Road Registry Inc.

The fourth withdrawn application belongs to KSB Aktiengesellschaft who applied for .KSB

    .conquered

    or in Latin
    .veni
    .vidi
    .vici

    What’s surprising is they didnt ask for “.www” or “.gle” or simply “.e”

    .est would have a potential. Except that Estonia would probably want to have it too.

    EST.ME resells subdomains and emails like dear.est.me and dear@est.me.

    Google was probably thinking about repeating this trick with .est. Who knows…
