Expecting.com Sold For $50K On Sedo

July 25, 2012 by Michael Berkens

The domain name Expecting.com just crossed the Sedo sales wire at $49,999.

The domain was owned by Kron Studio of  Miami Beach, Florida who seems to have owned the domain since at least 2001, although the original registration date is May 1996.

The domain is still in escrow at Sedo so we don’t know who the buyer is yet, but it certainly would be a great domain for a site for soon to be mothers.

If you love the idea but just missed this domain,  it looks like expectingmoms.com is for sale over at Buydomains.com for $3,388 (not our domain)

We will update once the whois updates.

I would have “expected” a better price. Seems the aftermarket has been flat this year.

I think that one sold at the last great domains auction a few weeks ago.

Domaining is alive and well. Received and turned down a $5,000 offer on the above domain I hand reg’d just a few months ago.

Of course, today’s news release didn’t hurt 🙂

What did Sedo do to earn their commission on this one? Did they actively market expecting.com, or did the domain just passively sit there, somebody made an acceptable offer and then Sedo reaps their rewards?

Using escrow.com has turned out to be a very inexpensive way to facilitate the sale of domains for me – I wonder why the average domainer uses Sedo & Afternic for their average domain (under $100K sales).
