So, 2 of the top 3 Sedo sales last week were .tv domains? Nice…

Excuse me, 3 of the top 6 Sedo sales last week were .tv domains!

And I’ll bet all 3 sales were to European or Asian buyers.

Glad to see the .tv market gaining traction.

I love .com but it’s clear that the trend is toward .whatever extension globally.

And anyone tried to get a verb.me lately? Younger people like the alt extensions especially the hack phrases. Foreigners are not married to any single extension.

This is at least the second sedo sale list this year that shows .com giving up big ground to the hoard of alt extensions.

Wait until the public gets hit with .pay, .buy, .go, .you, .fyi, .cash, .him, .her, .eat and a million others. Right of the dot terms that communicate further meaning/action are going to be normed in our hive mind.

These are simply purchases, not successful transitions into development yet… They are looking for strong single or two word keywords, obviously .com in these keyword selections has become so expensive, only the elite can afford it, and most of these sales are not reported. I have probably done a dozen 5 figure sales via escrow this year, that have gone unreported in .com, some of the best names, you have no idea have sold.

Lots of blue collar sales this week…

The .tv sales are cool and all … but they better find a way to get the corresponding .COM as well if they haven’t done so already (settv.com, and immobilientv.com).

$30k is a lot to risk if someone with a good idea can just go ahead and “upstream” you by buying the .com and developing it out. Then they’ll own you.

.TV is gaining major traction on the development side over the past 12 months. The .com is absolutely not necessary – most domainers think .com is King, when the truth is…CONTENT IS KING!

Over the past 18 months, we’ve turned down 3 offers of over $20,000 each (plus a few smaller ones) for 5D dot tv.

    M@
Most of the .tv names are European buyers, their cctld could be .hu,.nl,.fr etc…therefore they don’t have to get the equivalent name in .com.

Re .TV appears that the demand is overseas at the moment or at least where the buyers are willing to make a more substantial investment in .TV again this is only what our experience has been. Have received multiple serious inquiries on NITRO.TV, HOTROD.TV, BIGDOG.TV & GRILLIN.TV to name a few, most of which (6 out of 10)have originated overseas.

Silly TV – I would say it´s mostly the US domainers that are stuck in the “.com is king” bubble (probably because .com is king in the US). Anywhere else in the world we´re seeing a great shift in use of alternative extensions. In Europe the ccTLD´s and other extensions like .TV and .ME are gaining a lot of momentum.
