March 29, 2012 by Michael Berkens

Domain Investor Eric Borgos of Impulse Corp.,   has just acquired another really nice name at a great price.

i bought pokerline.com at the same auction. i used to be a great poker player but now everybody i know plays better than me so i don’t know what i could possibly use it for. but i just loved the name… maybe sometime online poker will be legal and i can use the name to let people bet against phil helmuth. i think everyone would like the opportubity to bet against phil helmuth.

Its worth less when 839 registrants x 50 or over 2,000 other gtlds come online.

.weights undoubtly being one of them.

Imagine shipping charges on buying weights 😉

Good point but think of all the returns they won’t get that many ecommerce sites get, like cant send it back because the dress doesn’t fit

Also don’t think you have to worry about the merchandise getting damaged in transit

    A bit pricey, imo.

@adam… it’s guys like you with your negative attitude that put pets.com out of business. even though they had the best prices except for the $20 shipping on a bag of dog food. but i think sock puppets are still the wave of the future. ‘course i could be wrong… i usually am.

I don’t think anyone buys weights online for the same reasons why pets.com went under.

Whatever Robert Cline – says – do the opposite – and IMO you will be terr off

Whatever Eric Borgos does – he already has the business model in place and he will win.

I like it for weight lifiting health, diet and most importantly competition reasons.
And lastly what about a TV show – or some kind of reality show

What is that about 1.00 per exact word search that he paid?

Outstanding deal. I don’t he he is to worried about shipping that is why they have amazon.

But again many of you are only thinking of weight lifting products that can be sold.

Me thinks Waits.com carry more weight than Weights.com.

    Stop scratching yourself Chewie!

Y’all are missing the point… it isn’t to sell “weights”, the real money is in the supplements that go along with the sport. Add informative content on technique and various routines and that domain will make bank.

    @Cartoonz –
you said it better than me.
eric understands brand – look at CheapFlowers.com alone – he aint no fool – he builds businesses – not buying and selling domains – good food for anyone new to .com’s on this thread.

weights.com for $32,000………..is worth its weight in gold!

    Cheers

    That would be 1.2x pounds.

Will be a great buy but only if built out as mentioned, the name alone is one which would require work, not incredibly stand alone.

Weights.com is a good name for a site about weight lifting or fitness, and those are high paying keyword topics in Adsense. Or it would be a great name for one of the hundreds of companies that makes weights to own. I don’t want to get into the business of manufacturing or selling weights, but there are plenty of companies that already do that.

I mainly bought it because at the $32,000 there seemed like little downside risk, but lots of upside potential.

eric, you are a lucky man to have bought that name! regardless of what others said, that is a rockstar domain.

i would have been in the running in it if my cash wasn’t tied up somewhere else… at $32k that seems like a bargain to me
