Dynadot.com Site Gets Makeover

September 6, 2011 by Michael Berkens

It looks like the popular domain name registrar, Dynadot.com got a makeover during the labor day holiday.

The new site sports sharper graphic’s, bolder colors and an jazzier interface.

To me its carrying forward a style of makeover along the lines of Name.com a couple of months ago.

I like the new design, what do you guys think.

According to Webhosting.info,  Dynadot.com has just under 400K domain names under management.

They’re going in the same direction as Name.com. Design looks similar to name.com. They greyed out the Find button that’s supposed to stand out and made other items stand out with bright colors. They need to go easy on the bright colors.

From a designers pov I think the entire frontpage is “one big mess”! There is no structure, no catching point, no nothing really. Atleast Name.com has a focal point when you enter the site. Makes you wonder who they hire to make that kind of a website.

Dynadot is my registrar of choice. Simple – cheap – great service, somebody always answers the phone if I call and they take care of any issues ASAP.

Hate it. It looks unprofessional. I had to log in last night and it took me forever to figure out where everything was. It almost looks as bad as the sites I make. lol

Not a huge fan of the look but Dynadot has good customer service and most importantly they haven’t ever stolen domains like Moniker and Dotster do.

The design is okay but hey need to do somthing with the background of the expired auctions, you can barely see the writing.

I preferred their original design much better. I wonder who thought that their original design was not good enough? When a company changes design, familiarity with navigation is lost for the customer. As of this writing (09/07/11) 8:am Pacific I have not been able to access the site for the last 10 hours.

Dynadot is one of the best domain registrars, doesn’t matter what color is the website it is very fast compared to other websites. Just worried as website is down for about 12 hours.

Looks great to me. I was there randomly a few days ago, and couldn’t believe it was still Dynadot 😀
