Bidders and prices on these went up DRAMATICALLY after your article came out earlier this week.

Put your name behind a domain auction of your own and it could be HUGE…

    See–they took my advice.

    I wrote about freemusicdownload.

“emplyment.com”–whoever goes to this site should not be employed

Somebody really wanted ShortHairStyles.com. All I know is that if I owned that domain and tried to find a broker to sell it for half that price I wouldn’t be able to find a broker to sell it.

That is absolutely true. Domain purchases and sales are still marked by a high level of uncertainty.

Some of these “compound words ” are very good keywords with “exact matches” , developers love them even though Mat Cutts says there is not advantage from a positioning/ranking point of view…. something tells me they (developers) know better.
In addition as of recent Google started showing the url/domain names right below the title potentially IMO bringing more traffic (if the search matches even closely the url) …

Agreed shorthairstyles.com on the open market wouldnt fetch 10% of that price.

However drop prices have historically been high since mid 2000 so no shock to me at all. Same goes for the employment and education typo, when one does the math and accounts that a generic typo would sold based on no more then 5-7 years revenue it doesnt make sense beyond $2k-$3k. Again, its a drop, it shows ovt/w, big player who care little about thousands here and there, perfect recipe for higher prices.

I just want to see if it was an end user that bought it or a domainer. Being a drop auction, it was likely a domainer. That being said, if I owned that domain, I think I could have listed that domain on Sedo for $1k and let it sit for 10 years without an offer. Yet if you hang a sign from the domain that says “if you don’t buy me now someone else will get it for reg fee” then suddeny someone is motivated to drop 5 figures on it.

freemusicdownloads.com (plural) is for sale at buydomains for $ 1.5 million (owned by Dotcomagency)

Freemusicdownload.com gets a fair bit of traffic according to compete.

short-hairstyles.com is developed and gets over 100,000 visitors according to compete…eeek.

Zuccarrini was making thousands a month from these domains at one time 😉

Do not be too confused what you are bidding on at NJ over the next 30 days or so. GoCarts.com (a Go Karts typo) makes no sense to me already at $25K at NJ – but everybody must be real hungry these days for a category killer – even if it is a typo
