DomainSponsor Opens Up Its Network To Advertisers

April 28, 2011 by Michael Berkens

According to a Press release, DomainSponsor has opened up its network of parked domains, to outside advertisers:

“DomainSponsor’s® Precision Targeting EngineTM, (PTE), which made its beta debut at DOMAINfest Global, is officially launching and opening its service to qualified advertisers.”

“The service provides publishers with direct access to advertisers and offers advertisers high-conversion direct navigation traffic from the DomainSponsor network”

.”As you well know, publishers are interested in being a valuable link between advertisers and end users. ”

“Traditionally, these domain owners have had to rely on a single upstream provider’s advertising feed for these monetization services, thus limiting revenue opportunities.”

“Now, multiple advertisers or ad networks can bid on each incoming visitor. ”

“PTE uses a sophisticated, real-time algorithm to funnel that traffic to the highest bidder on the DomainSponsor monetization platform.”

“Advertiser Benefits Online advertisers, who constantly look for new sources of quality traffic, frequently seek to acquire “direct navigation” traffic—Internet traffic resulting from end users who are seeking specific product or service information by simply typing domain names directly into browsers.”

“If the domain is associated with an undeveloped website that is “parked” with a service like DomainSponsor, the user sees a selection of highly relevant links, data and advertisements related to the keywords comprising the domain name.”

“Advertisers and ad networks can use the PTE service to acquire direct navigation traffic on DomainSponsor’s network by bidding on desired keywords, categories and/or geographic origins.”

“DomainSponsor’s network receives more than 300 million unique visitors per month from around the world across all categories, providing most advertisers with both high quantity and high quality targeted traffic.”

“PTE gives advertisers greater control over their direct navigation ad campaigns by providing granular performance metrics, sophisticated traffic targeting, bid management tools, and personal account management support.”

“Publisher Benefits Owners of parked domain names—referred to as publishers—are interested in being a valuable link between advertisers and end users.”

“Traditionally, these publishers have had to rely on a single upstream provider’s advertising feed for these monetization services, thus limiting revenue opportunities.”

“PTE changes this equation by allowing multiple advertisers or ad networks to bid on each incoming visitor.”

“PTE uses a sophisticated, real-time algorithm to funnel that traffic to the highest bidder on the DomainSponsor monetization platform. As a result, PTE allows publishers access to a broader base of advertisers, which improves coverage and revenue.”

“Our Precision Targeting Engine offers a win-win-win scenario for advertisers, publishers and direct navigation users,” said Peter Celeste, Senior Vice President and General Manager of DomainSponsor. “To prove the validity of our new technology, we tested it with just a select group of advertisers on our own portfolio of one million undeveloped domain names. The results were significant and validated the upside potential for publishers, as well as confirming the interest and value of this traffic to direct advertisers and ad networks.”

The investment in this new technology reinforces Oversee.net’s commitment to its leadership position in domain traffic monetization. Over the past two years, the company has invested millions of dollars in new optimization technology that has yielded stronger financial performance for publisher clients and more relevant direct navigation results for end-users.”””

End of release

The press release did not indicate how many advertisers Oversee has signed up for PTE but logically and hopefully adding direct advertisers to the equation should greatly help returns to domain holders.

Let’s hope this becomes a very successful venture for all parties INCLUDING domainers.

    Hi,

Sound like it ‘should’ help parking revenue….only time will tell.

Unfortunately, it will not solve the problem of total ‘transparency’ to domain owners, who park their domains…as most all parking companies seem to have had a problem with this, for many years now.

    Best,
    Dan
