smile, now you will have to write an article on when it is good to have a fixed price set….as on medialocker.com (if it was sold)

    Interesting

CloudPlayer.com has an Alexa Rank of 11 million today and no compete rank so lets see where it is in a month.

They offer a “Cloud Drive” as well, but I believe the .com is with Rackspace. Perhaps they don´t have the intention to run separate websites. See “Amazon AppStore”

Hopefully they don’t try to do the TM / WIPO move once it gets assigned to them.

Cloudplayer.com has been registered since 2003, if somehow that domain can get taken we got big problems.

cloudplayer.co – I cant see them marketing that domain?

I think they shall promote it via Amazon.com, Will be interested to see what the competition shall be doing and who they shall be?

    Apple, Yahoo, Google, Who else…

I seen this site MP3Tunes.com offering your Itunes account any computer or cool devices online…. Calling it a Music Locker….

Is it going to be known as Cloud or Locker ? Which one shall be the most used…?

Amazon has choosen Cloud Player but dont own CloudPlayer.com yet…

What about Locker Player or LockerPlayer.com will that be the next term? (Already Registered)

What shall Apple call there service, It is due to launch soon…

Will this help get legal digital music going again?

Alexa rank is gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarbage in terms of being an accurate snapshot of performance.

Also, chalk this up in that special category known as “The Only People Who Care Are Domainers”. Yes, at some point, someone’s going to develop an application or release a product and not give a shit that they don’t own the bang-on domain name. If it’s there to register they probably will, but they aren’t going to pay a scalpers price to buy it from someone else since it just means so little to their existing product or brand.

Maybe it’s a site like Amazon that doesn’t need to own a ton of keyword domain names diluting their centralized brand (where 95% of their customers buy-decisions will occur). Perhaps its a company that uses a http://www.company.com/product approach.

This is just so, so irrelevant. There is definitely a line in the sand where John Q Public doesn’t ‘get it’ on domains, but everything past that line is domainer-delusion where its believed that the eCommerce world begins and ends with domain names.

They took the .biz as well, I am sure they will make a play for the .com, all the owner can say is no.

Watching CNBC and they keep reffering to Amazon New Cloud service as a Music Locker…. not Cloud Player…, heard them same it now two or three time

“Amazon’s New Cloud Service Music Locker”

  12. MHB says

    March 29, 2011 at 1:06 pm

    Robbie

And our good Friend Frank Schilling owns that domain, musiclocker.com

  13. John says

    March 29, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Well why is amazon registering everything under cloud player, and not music locker?

  14. Ryan says

    March 29, 2011 at 1:10 pm

CNBC can’t even get stocks right let alone news stories

  15. Ryan says

    March 29, 2011 at 1:11 pm

Since when is Frank anyones friend, what has he ever done for you?

  16. John says

    March 29, 2011 at 1:12 pm

Funny amazon registers cloudplayer.biz but not musiclocker.biz, I will let the facts speak for themselves

  17. Robbie says

    March 29, 2011 at 1:19 pm

@MHB, We know Frank has MusicLocker.com, we just picked up Music-Locker.com

@ryan – I’m not saying CNBC is correct in saying ” Music Locker” just point it out that if a major news channel is saying Music Locker not Cloud Player it is going to drive traffic to that term…

  18. MHB says

    March 29, 2011 at 1:22 pm

    Ryan

I regard Frank to be a good friend and actually a great guy.

I don’t think the measure of a friendship should be “what has he ever done for you”

  22. Meyer says

Frank is not a potential buyer for my crappy domains.
He has enough of his own gems and crap like all of us.
(Except he has a better ratio than me.)

I have a few decent cloud domains that I registered and as more and more of the internet becomes cloud based I think it’s a good investment. I can’t recall all of them but a few off the top of my head:

    CloudAdNetwork.com
    CloudAdExchange.com
    iGamingCloud.com
    CloudiGaming.com
    AutomatedCloud.com

    etc, etc…

Dean, Really get a life, and stop peddling your crap, have some class

  28. Dean says

    March 29, 2011 at 7:19 pm

Mike no peddling here, it’s on topic, I never said I was selling them or offering to, so piss off.

  29. Dean says

    March 29, 2011 at 7:38 pm

Also I think the point was lost on a few. Most, I would guess 99% of the people who commented in regard to this post, had they been offered cloudplayer or cloudlocker for a $1,000 a few months ago might have turned it down. I am not adverse to shameless self promotion, but I could have rattled off at least 5 more cloud related domains had that been my sole intent.

“So what about that fixed price MediaLocker.com sale now?”

Until we know who bought it, no change. It’s one of the top names for these applications.

Looks like the owner of the domain caught the Amazon story early and pulled the domain out of the sales channel.

I guess you can write him to see what the current price is, or if its even for sale.

Now just a parked page with no buy it now option
