Quick Poll: How Much Will E.Co Sell For?

May 27, 2010 by Michael Berkens

I’m sure you read yesterday, that the .Co registry is going to auction off the domain E.CO through Sedo at Internet Week June 7th – June 10th.

Keeping in mind that the auction is being marketed to a wide non-domainer audience  and that the 100% of the proceeds go to charity, what do you think the domain will sell for?

E.Biz sold for $66K during the Sedo auction of single character .Biz domains, the highest sale for that auction.

Please vote on the poll on the right and place any of your comments below.

I frankly find this domain to be an aberration.
(and the rest of the .co crappola.)

.co DOT CO sounds awkward this day in age because it is awkward.

Domainers are not in the buisness of changing people’s minds ,
.com the *King …long live the King.
*(and selected c.c’s in their respective countries )

To make any of these .co developments into something of potential value it will need mega branding investment and by that measure it can be basically done with any other extension , the expected bleeding to the .com will be of biblical proportions.

As always the only parties that will fill it’s pockets will be the registrars/ promoters and a handful of domainers that will “pump and dump” just to move to the next upcoming bastard extension…

    Snake and Oil anybody…?

I am baffled some domainers (mainly the type Imissedtheboat.com ) still think they can’t reinvent the e-wheel.
