BiBi.com Hits $12,500 In First Hours of 3 Day SnapNames.com Auction

May 26, 2010 by Michael Berkens

The domain BiBi.com dropped today and SnapNames.com successful registered it, starting the 3 day auction at $59.

Just hours into the three day auction and the domain already has a high bid of $12,500.

There are over 250 people in this auction.

BiBi is certainly a nice LLLL domain.

BiBi.Org is a pretty popular site with a compete estimate of 9K visitors a month.

There is a BiBi Magazine, Bibi is what many call the prime minster of Israeli, and its apparently the name of a pretty famous parrot.

In all there are over 10,500,000 references to BiBi on Google.

Time for predictions, how much will this domain sell for?

My guess is $25K.

The auction closes on Saturday at 3:15pm EST

Wonder if all of the bidders did a trademark search…

I am one of the bidders, and thought I was going to be the only one to secure the domain, until the auction started and I saw the number of monkeys riding on this domain. Blew my budget early on in the auction, and am now a spectator, lol

I would also say Bibi will go for over $25k.

Btw, snapnames.com also has Match.US in auction closing tomorrow with 9 bidders already in the auction.

    Thanks.

Should be a very nice payday for snapnames.

    My guestimate is $40-45k.

    269 bidders is a lot.

I wonder if FMA even knows that this name is missing from their portfolio of gems?

Prediction: highest bidder defaults on payment and re-auction.

$20K the first time around. $10K the 2nd.

Maybe if this was on NameJet.com, Snap doesn’t seem to have a problem with a lot of re-auctioned domains

I think I am the one who pushed that auction, I need more catchy names for our buyers.

Nelson, oh I mean Francois. I’m sure Snapnames appreciates the money.
I’m sure the potential buyer also appreciates your effort.

    @Anthony,

Good observation that Bibi.com was owned by FMA. What’s strange is that they would just let go of such a name by accident??? Not them!
Expiration date was 2011-06-20, with Moniker, no wonder snapnames got it.

It’s either dumbed because of legal issues or FMA is using the best and only way to get 270 bidders in one auction.

Well, MHB, Can I contact you on something? You can send me an email to write you on, or I could write you on the blog’s email.

    Cheers
    Caesar
