Will The First Site To Make It Big Off the iPad Be An Adult Site?: PinkVisualPad.com

April 22, 2010 by Michael Berkens

Despite Apple’s  well known disdain against porn, the first site that might ride the iPad’s waive to fame and fortune maybe a porn site.

On the day that the iPad hit the stores, PinkVisualPad.com, launched.

PinkVisualPad.com, is according to the company, the first iPad optimized adult site on the Web.

The President of Pink Visual, Allison Vivas, said she registered the domain name the same day Steve Jobs officially unveiled the device and, more importantly, the name iPad, on January 27 and was actually ready for launch a week ahead of the iPad itself.

Now you ask how can they get away with this when Apple doesn’t allow any sort of Apps with adult content?

Well PinkVisualPad.com operates an a independent site optimized for iPad, instead of being a standalone Application.

According to the company, the site has received about 400,000 page views and 51,000 unique visitors since the iPads release which  is about 10% of the 500,000 or so iPads sold by Apple since the device’s release.

The site offers three subscriptions, a one-day pass for $1, a one-month subscription for $25, and a three-month subscription for $40.

Vivas said the early returns show the customers coming in for the one-day pass and choosing to subscribe, with 70% opting for the one- and three-month options.

Porn typically leads the way in the use of new technology.

So it seems its done it again with the iPad.
