WhyPark.com Charity Domain Auction Set For December; Submit Your Domains Now

October 23, 2009 by Michael Berkens

WhyPark.com is organizing a 5-day charity domain auction to begin December 7th and end December 11th.

Approximately 50 domains will be chosen for the charity auction, and all domains will start with no reserve.

At the close of the auction, the single highest bid from all auctions will be able to choose the charity to receive all net proceeds.

However WhyPark will ensure the charity is a neutral, socially-responsible, respected charity.

It’s an extra incentive to open your wallets a bit more while bidding on great quality domain names.

Please submit the domains you would like to donate keeping the following guidelines in mind:

  • The focus is on raising the greatest amount of money for a single charity, chosen by the highest bidder. This is not a clearing house for domains you plan on letting drop. Please submit quality names that you feel could sell for a minimum of $250-$500.
  • Feel free to submit as many domains as you’d like, again keeping quality in mind.
  • We will ultimately review all domains submitted and choose approximately 50 of the highest quality names to keep the size of the auction list manageable and increase bid activity.
  • Check with your accountant to determine what tax deductions are available if your domain is selected.

If your domain is selected for the charity auction, we will list your company logo and/or name next to the domain you’ve donated on this page, along with a link to your site. This page will remain online after the auction has been completed with the auction results.

To submit your domain to the auction check out WhyPark’s Charity auction page.

I think this is a great idea and a way for all of us to give back.

We will definitely be submitting a few domains ourselves to this worthy cause and urge everyone to do the same
