TRAFFIC Show Coming To Vegas In January, The Weekend Before DomainFest: You Like?

August 25, 2009 by Michael Berkens

The TRAFFIC show organizers just announced that TRAFFIC Las Vegas will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel on January 21 through 23.

According to the organizers:

“The show will feature as many as seven full meals, three cocktail parties, great seminars, big name speakers, and the best night-time parties.”

What this means is that TRAFFIC Vegas will be held in Vegas, the weekend before DomainFest.com. (DomainFest starts on the following Tuesday)

Personally I like this move and plan on attending both shows.

It’s one trip out west,  for all us east coast guys, you get to spend the weekend in Vegas at the Hard Rock, then take a quick 30 minute flight over to LA on Monday for DomainFest.

Sounds perfect.

It’s also 2 days after Affiliate Summit. A tough decision will have to be made. More than a week of Vegas might be the end of me. 😛

Isn’t it always the biggest, best ever show not to miss?

I guess many people will go for DomainFest, as it is much cheaper and it seems to attract more people.

I’m not sure Domainfest is much cheaper.

The early bird pricing for DomainFest is $895.

That’s what I paid for early bird pricing for TRAFFIC NY.

I haven’t seen the prices for TRAFFIC Vegas yet but based off NY prices they are the same.

Now if you wait until the show to then I think TRAFFIC becomes more expensive, but that’s your fault for waiting.

Best domaining shows are listed in the Event section of the Domaining.com menu.

Simply look which of these shows are listed.

One question I have is for the auctions! Seems like two big auctions pretty darn close to each other. Will the buyers spend to much at the first one and spend less at the second? Or will buyers hold back from the first auction because they may like other domains in the second auction.

It will be interesting to see each auction list and when they both come out. Overall, I like the idea to have them close but I would have to think it will hurt both auctions.

For professional domainers, the 3 shows back to back might not be a problem. But, it could become very, very expensive.

(show fees, airfare, hotels, meals, entertainment, gambling, etc, etc.)

Not counting the bidding on domains. 🙂

With the reduction in ppc revenue, could that make some domainers cut back on expenditures?

For part-time domainers, 3 shows would be difficult to justify.

The last few Domainfests I attended, I got the impression a lot of part-time domainers attend that.

Simply put Vegas show is the best place to party, LA show will be the place to do biz and talk shit about the previous show.

I’m not sure this is any different than this October’s TRAFFIC show in NY when both Moniker and Latona will be holding auctions at the same show.

I think the bigger question is will there be enough high quality domains be submitted at reasonable prices for all the auctions.

MHB: well DomainFest is basically free, when you park with them, they refund you the fee, at least they did so in the past.
