Former TRAFFIC Keynote Speaker Corcoran, Lands Right In The “Shark Tank”

August 20, 2009 by Michael Berkens

In case you haven’t seen it, ABC new reality show the Shark Tank, has a domain connection.

The show allowed people who own a business, or a product, pitch it to 5 very successful and wealthy businessmen, call the Sharks,  and attempt to sell a piece of the business product or idea, for cold hard cash.

The cool part of the show is that the 5 sharks actually invest their own money into the ventures or products.

One of the five sharks on the show is Barbara Corcoran,  who started The Corcoran Group, a New York real estate company which she sold in 2001 for $70 million dollars.

What this have to do with the domain business?

Corcoran was the keynote speaker at TRAFFIC New York, 2008.

If you go to DNJournal you can read more about her appearance at TRAFFIC and see a few pictures of her at the show.

If you haven’t watched the TV show, give it a try as its pretty interesting and entertaining.

Watching the show I could help but wonder if Ms. Corcoran after being pitched on a business ever thinks back to her time with domainers saying I should have invested in domains.

Congrats go out to Rick and Howard for picking another huge talent to grace the TRAFFIC show.

Shark Tank airs on Sunday nights at 9pm EST on ABC.

I watched the first night it aired and Barbara was also the big buyer that night. Interesting show for sure and was cool to know she was a speaker at TRAFFIC.

Don’t forget that Ben Stein was the guest speaker at the first T.R.A.F.F.I.C. and is now pitching for COMCAST with SHAQ.
