Online Porn Covered By Search Engine Journal: “Porn Pushes The Boundaries On Technology”

July 23, 2009 by Michael Berkens

A pretty interesting post this morning on the online porn industry, searches and user behaviors appeared in the Search Engine Journal.

Anyone in the industry or any one owing adult domains should check it out.

Some of the more interesting points is although more people are searching using the term “porn”, there are only 4 adult sites in the alexa.org top 100.

“The proportion of people searching for porn related material is growing at a smaller rate than the overall online population.  In comparison to the number of people getting online, there is less activity in the sex industry and more for social networking and communication”.

I’m pretty happy that the post goes on to discuss the key word “dirty” (guess who owns dirty.com).

The post then goes on to discuss how anyone is going to make money on porn when there is so much “free porn” available.

One thing the author gets bang, regardless of your opinion of porn,  is the statement:

“Everyone already knows porn pushes the boundaries on technology”

This has always been true and continues to be true.

I have seen new technology where you can watch six good nice sized video streams at once in your browser.

Try doing that with YouTube.com

If anyone wants the link to the adult site that has this technology , drop me an e-mail and I will send the link to you, as the site is unprotected and available to be viewed by minors I’m not linking to it direct from here.

Go check out the Search Engine Journal Post

“as the site is unprotected and available to be viewed by minors I’m not linking to it direct from here”

Every minor can find porn in 5 seconds via Google if he wants…this with the link is absurd unless you are some church-brainwashed whatever

Is it maybe that the “early adopters” of the internet, young men are no longer new to the internet. Its the older generation that are coming online now, those with no desire to look up porn.
