January 27, 2009 by Michael Berkens

Well like many of you i’m at DomainFest for the week.

If your coming to the show, safe travels.

One word of warning, as I got here yesterday, baby its cold outside, at night.

You can catch me speaking at 9:45 Wednesday morning,  at a session called:

Domaining 2.0™ – What Does The Next Evolutionary Phase of Our Industry Look Like?
Location: Grand Ballroom
Moderator: Peter Celeste (Oversee.net)
Speakers: Gregg McNair (Strata Services Limited), Nico Zeifang (Zeifang.com), Michael Berkens (Worldwide Media, Inc.), Ofer Ronen (Sendori), Steve Hisey (Oversee.net)

I also will be part of a bloggers group in the exhibit hall, from 5-6:30 with some great guys:

Corner #4: Industry Bloggers’ View of How Our Industry is Evolving

Experts: Mike Berkens (TheDomains.com), Michael Gilmour (WhizzBangsBlog.com), Andrew Allemann (DomainNameWire.com), Frank Michlick (DomainNameNews.com).

Hope to meet many of you in person.

On another note you only have another couple of days to get your prediction for the amount the live auction will generate on the poll, over on the right side of the site.

Right now under $1,000,000 in sales is winning the race.

Here is another definition of facebook, which was not invented by the s0ftware theif Mark Zuckerberg.

    Main Entry: facebook1
    Part of Speech: n
Definition: a publication for an organization, such as a school or business, which helps members identify each other; also, an online version of this, with profiles including a picture, name, birthdate, interests, etc.
Example: checked out her facebook profile
    Etymology: 2004

I hope you correct your post ASAP. Just because you didn’t here of the term facebook before the popular site facebook.com, doesn’t mean it is not a generic term. As I said before you are doing harm to the domain industry by suggesting that anyone who brands a generic term can go after related generic domains.

I was trying to find a contact form on the blog and was even considering e-mailing off the who-is, but figured a comment might be better.

I’m not sure how long you’re going to be in LA for, but if you get bored, feel free to contact me and maybe we can go out somewhere as a group of domainers and discuss things? I won’t be at DomainFest this year, but am in the neighborhood ;)!

Hope you have fun! Looking forward to the inside scoop when everyone heads back home.

Thanks for the offer but if you look at the schedule its packed, they didn’t even allow time for dinner, or drinks.

Now I could miss the Playboy party to get together but…

LOL! Don’t miss the Playboy Party… please. Just wanted to mention ;). If you’d like (just in case), shoot me an e-mail (fka200 [at] hotmail) and I can give you my cell # if by chance you guys get bored and have nothing to do (a cancellation maybe?) or in case you need some emergency contact info within the area. Sounds stalkerish, but I’m bummed about not being able to go, especially being so close. Definitely next year though!
