First iPhone Domain Registration App Released

December 9, 2008 by Michael Berkens

I Want My Name, a domain registration and management platform from ideegeo Group LTD, released the first iPhone application which allows domain registration on the go.

The iWantMyName DomainApp is a free search and registration tool for domain names in over 80 extensions. Its core features are:

– Search for domain availability for the most popular top-level domains
– Instant domain registration in a few seconds
– Bookmark search results
– Whois information lookup

After installing the tool from Apple’s App Store, the user can connect his iWantMyName account and start registering domains immediately.

“We have designed the application with a strong security focus”, says Lenz Gschwendtner, ideegeo’s CTO and co-founder. “An example is the use of a remote key instead of asking for an account username and password. We also don’t save any search results on our servers or do front-running”, he said.

Thanks for the news! So far I’ve been using enom.mobi

I hope enom follows suit and releases an iphone app so their resellers can register domains through their platform with a bit more features than enom.mobi has (although the mobi is good for a quick fix)

iPhone is great with lots of futures – Steve Jobs and his team are on the right track.

Registering the domain names on the go with this iPhone application is a GREAT concept.

    Nice One
