Amazing: In 2008 Mainstream Publications Are Still Asking: “Whether It’s Worth Buying Your Own Domain Name”

November 18, 2008 by Michael Berkens

Caught an article in Computer Active UK that started with the above title.

It is truly amazing, that more than 10 years after I registered my first domain, this question is still being asked by a publication dedicated to the Computer industry.

When I read stories like this, i can feel the value of my portfolio grow.

We all forget that so much of the world is still just starting to get online.

As they do they will continue to realize they need at least a decent domain, so you will have a new group of customers calling.

No we are not at the top, of domain values, rather we are still growing.

By the way, the article’s conclusion.

Yes it is worth buying your a domain, even if it costs you $8 to do so.

Bravo.

Regardless of any economic recession, quality domains are very “limited” commodities. This means that domains will always be valuable.

I think the value of decent domains will continue to grow. Those end-users who invest in quality domains will definitely reap the benefits later, and will have the advantage.

LOL – some people have a mind of their own.

Because we tend to talk to other domainers a lot, we all sometimes forget that most of the world doesn’t yet see what we see. I’m still amazed everytime I check the availability of a good domain name and it is available for hand registration. It happens more often than you would think.

Must be a slow day @UK

    J/K 🙂

Definitely good keyword domains that are in-demand will always continue to rise up in valuations.

There are tons of good keyword domains still avail for reg fee as well and I’ve posted probably close to 2,000 on my site just as an example.
