And that would be the end of Yahoo.

Why would Yahoo want stupid customers?

Hey Rob! They’d want “stupid” customers because…even “stupid” customers spend money…lots and lots of it. 😉

This would actually be an excellent combination; benefiting both each respective company as well as their customers/ clients/ users.

Rob Sequin. if you dont know what AOL has… than i guess that makes you a stupid businessman.
AOL search traffic from the early days and even to this day is the highest quality traffic you could find online.

From one perspective. Yahoo has to do this deal.. They have NO other options at all. However on the flip side, Yahoo has trashed any decent web property they’ve ever aquired and helped Google in the process. Think alltheweb.com, av.com hotbot.com and anything else.

Don’t forget about Broadcast.com making Mark Cuban the luckiest loser of all time.

I would like to see the report claiming that AOL has the highest quality traffic that you can find online.

AOL has always been and always will be Internet for Dummies.

Now I suppose that doesn’t necessarily translate into bad customers but really? AOL? I don’t really see them being the next YouTube or Digg or have anything that’s hot, ever.

If Yahoo buys AOL, that will be the last deal they ever do because they will be bankrupt shortly after. How about AOL Time Warner. How’s that going?

Too bad, I used to LOVE Yahoo.

There is no denying the fact that aol is on its last legs, even tho they still have a huge traffic base. A top 25 search portal however is still huge. Rob, i know you’re new to domains and maybe to the internet as well. Trust me with its limited traffic AOL is still the king of traffic quality and thats exactly what Yahoo needs, a traffic quality boost. Yahoo quality and volume have been going downhill ever since they lost MSN. You simply cant replace quality that you get from MSN or AOL in your PPC network with all the domain traffic in the world. The addition of AOL will be huge to Yahoo and by default domainers will benefit as well.

    FX,

Some might know me as being around for a while in this industry so you’re wrong on that point and I would still like to see any report within say the last three years stating that AOL has a high quality traffic rating.

What exactly does that mean? I would like to see some metrics.
