AmeliaIsland.com To Be Sold For $50K

September 6, 2008 by Michael Berkens

Due to a split between the Amelia Island Tourism Development Council and the  Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce, the domain name AmeliaIsland.com is going to be sold for $50,000

The Amelia Island Tourism Development Council, will pay the chamber $50,000 to purchase the domain name www.ameliaisland.com

The council already owns, but doesn’t use, the domain name www.ameliaisland.org.

Amelia Island lies outside of Jacksonville Florida and is a resort community home to a very nice Ritz Carlton, many beach front upscale condos and homes.

So all you Geo guys, what do you think this name would go for on the open market?

Very good Wortracker score, and the website is #1 on Google for Amelia Island and some other strong terms. I would think at least double their price if they included the current website. Maybe even more than that.

    SEObook of 517
    1st spot on Google
    $2+ adwords bids
    $140k on Estibot
    Destinatin location
Key missing stat is # of tourists
Smaller Geos seem to have been trading at around 2x standard valuations, however it does not seem like the large scale geo buyers are out there currently. It could go for $200k if there were more geo buyers in that price range. But today’s market, most they could get is probably $130k.
